Danish Cycling Culture for urban sustainability
With Danish bicycle culture as a starting point Dreams on Wheels is an exhibition that promotes cycling as an alternative means of transport in the cities. The exhibition shows best practises from Denmark for example in relation to innovative industrial design and sustainable city planning. Dreams on Wheels is part of the public diplomacy framework of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The bicycle in our climate change era could be regarded as a Trojan Horse for Sustainability. In other words, it can insidiously infiltrate people’s subconscious ambition to become climate-friendly. When inhabitants adopt bike culture, knowingly or unknowingly, the city and urban spaces become more sustainable in terms of transportation, but even more so in terms of quality of life and lifestyle.
Dreams on Wheels will be in Mexico City and will first be located at the “Club de Bicicletas” (Bicycle office of the Environmental Department of Mexico City), close to Bosque de Chapultepec, from March 5th to March 22nd. Following, the exhibition will move to the “Zocalo” (alternatively UNAM) from March 22nd to April 30th.
